Propspeed Presents Commercial Marine Kit to Support Industry Trade Professionals

Underwater foul-release coatings innovator provides commercial marine industry with professional-grade offering

Auckland, New Zealand, 22 June, 2022 – Propspeed, leading innovator of underwater foul-release coatings has created a Propspeed Commercial Kit designed specifically for the trade professional operating in the commercial marine industry. Providing enough coating for two propellers, 165-203cm in size, or a total surface coverage of 14.2 square meters, the kit is ideal for most commercial vessels in this space.

Propspeed’s ultra-slick topcoat is specially formulated to prevent marine growth from bonding to metal surfaces below the waterline. Offering all-in-one protection, Propspeed is the ideal defence against marine growth, corrosion and electrolysis for all underwater metal assets including propellers, shafts and struts. It is proven to support vessel readiness, increase efficiency, prevent corrosion, save fuel and reduce maintenance costs.

The solution features an exceptionally strong chemical and mechanical bond between the metal substrate, the Etching Primer and the Clear Coat – ensuring the Propspeed coating actually sticks to running gear, and that the vessel can run at its peak. In addition, because growth releases when the vessel reaches cruising speeds, the product line prevents invasive species from being transferred to other regions.

“We’ve seen tremendous interest in our product line in the commercial space,” said Chris Baird, CEO, Propspeed. “Whether a fishing boat, ferry, tug or luxury yacht, owners, operators and shipyards around the world are applying Propspeed for the protection from growth and corrosion it provides. We decided to offer our established product in a more convenient package for these vessels and look forward to making it just a little easier for marine industry professionals to purchase and apply the best foul-release coating.”

With over 21 years of experience protecting underwater assets globally, Propspeed is also proud to have built a passionate team throughout EMEA, offering superior in-field technical support to its customers.

Propspeed products include Propspeed for running gear and any underwater metals, Foulfree for transducers and Lightspeed for underwater lighting. www.propspeed.com/commercial.

About Propspeed

Propspeed is dedicated to protecting the performance of underwater assets such as propellers, shafts, rudders, all underwater metals, transducers and lighting without doing harm to humans or the marine environment. Over the past 21 years the company has developed three coatings for specific applications. Applying Propspeed, Foulfree or Lightspeed to their dedicated substrates creates a biocide free surface that is exceptionally difficult for marine organisms to attach to. Improving performance, lowering fuel and operational costs, and keeping lighting clear and transducers working effectively throughout the season. Superbly effective on underwater metal parts, no other system can match the proven success record on either leisure or commercial vessels. Propspeed is based in New Zealand, the home of sailing, with worldwide distribution and service.
