Press release -
Ocean Signal - boot Düsseldorf: Ocean Signal Joins Forces with New Distributor Nordwest-Funk for the First Time at boot Düsseldorf
boot Düsseldorf 2018, 20th to 28th January, Hall 11 Stand B41 – B42
Ocean Signal will introduce its latest safety products in partnership with new Germany distributor Nordwest-Funk GmbH for the first time at this year’s boot Düsseldorf.
Emden-based specialist Nordwest-Funk will exhibit the new Ocean Signal Class A and Class B AIS transponders alongside its wide range of equipment, ahead of the anticipated launch of both devices to the market later this year.
Ideal for leisure boat owners and captains, the Ocean Signal ATB1 is a powerful Class B AIS Transponder incorporating the superior SOTDMA technology and 5W output power to ensure increased visibility and navigational safety. The Ocean Signal ATB1 has a faster reporting rate and higher output power than standard CSTDMA (Carrier Sense TDMA) Class B units, sending AIS transmissions every five seconds instead of the CSTDMA two transmissions per minute. The unit’s 5W output power, compared to the standard 2W, allows the transmissions to reach further.
The Ocean Signal ATA100 Class A AIS Transponder, a combined SOLAS and Inland approved solution, can exchange dynamic and static ship data with other AIS systems to aid collision-avoidance and improve safety for leisure boats, superyachts and commercial vessels. Developed to meet the latest IMO carriage requirements and IEC standards, the compact and easy to use ATA100 is the only Class A AIS transponder available rated to theIPX7 waterproofingstandard and features a 7-inch high-intensity, full-colour, rapid-response LCD to clearly display real-time marine traffic information.
The two new AIS devices will be on show with Ocean Signal’s established portfolio of award-winning devices, including the award-winning rescueME MOB1, the rescueME EDF1 electronic distress flare, the popular rescueME PLB1 and the rescueME EPIRB1, and its SafeSea range of GMDSS products, including the V100 hand-held radio, S100 SART and E100 EPIRB. Ocean Signal’s latest products, the M100 and M100X Maritime Survivor Locating Device (MSLD) and AIS Alarm Box, are also available through Nordwest-Funk.
Ocean Signal announced in November that it had further strengthened its presence in Germany with the appointment of marine product specialist Nordwest-Funk GmbH as its new distributor in the country. Nordwest-Funk offers a wide range of equipment from leading marine manufacturers and celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
