In an exciting first, the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada together with their Official Marine Partner, YANMAR, will publicly exhibit the oldest trophy of international sport at boot Düsseldorf 2020. The event highlights a presentation about the X47 EXPRESS CRUISER produced by YANMAR, designed exclusively for the 36th America’s Cup for use as the Official America’s Cup VIP Cruiser. Martin Fischer, America’s Cup boat designer, will also join the event to speak about the 36th America’s Cup and the challenges of the boat design.

3. YANMAR’s Yotaro Tsuchiya to present the X47 EXPRESS CRUISER, the America’s Cup official VIP Cruiser

Speakers:

Yotaro Tsuchiya, Chief of YANMAR Co., Ltd's Design Strategy Office

A graduate with a Bachelor of Art in Product Design from Art Center College of Design. Tsuchiya-san is an experienced product designer and arts and design professional with a broad product design portfolio. Alumni of the world famous industrial design firm, Ken Okuyama Design, "Yo" is skilled in Product Design, Design Management, Concept Development, and Art Direction. A strong arts and design professional, he brings his design and management talents to bear in charge of YANMAR's Design Strategy Team managing design projects for multiple business units.

Mirko Groeschner, Marketing and commercial director of Challenger of Record 36

Over 20 years of business experience in international sports marketing (e.g. F1, America’s Cup, PGA Golf, European Basketball, Trail running). Involved in six America’s Cup since 2001. Mirko run the 34th America’s Cup in San Francisco as Event Producer. During this 36th America’s Cup he heads the Marketing, Commercial and Event Team for the Challenger of Record to produce the AC World Series and the Prada Cup.

Martin Fischer, America's Cup boat designer

Born in Celle (Germany) in 1962, Martin studied physics and holds a PhD in geophysics. For 14 years he has been working on the design of hulls and appendages for numerous projects, including beach catamarans (F18, A-Cat, C-Cat), ocean racing multihulls (Groupama-2/3, Sodebo, Banque Populaire) and was also involved in a Volvo Ocean Race campaign (Groupama-4). This is his second America’s Cup with team Luna Rossa.

Charlie Webster, MC

Charlie Webster is an experienced broadcaster and journalist on TV and Radio. She has worked globally for major TV networks and in her career has covered international sporting events including the Olympics and Paralympics, World Cup's, Wimbledon, F1 and America's Cup to name but a few. She has done several world first's including becoming the first woman globally to host a live heavyweight world title fight

The America's Cup is the oldest trophy in sport and is recognised as the pinnacle of sailing. Leading up to the America's Cup Match, are the America's Cup World Series events in 2019-2020, the Christmas Race and the Challenger Selections Series - the Prada Cup in early 2021 to determine the team which will challenge the Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand in the America's Cup Match Presented by Prada in March 2021 in Auckland.
